Hello my fellow personages hahahaha! I have what may be the dumbest question on earth for someone to answer . I am a long time customer so to speak and recently I just renewed everything again, and I purchased Object Desktop Ultimate, so here is the question...Is Impulse Object Desktop Ultimate? Are they the same thing? I keep thinking I didn't get ODU, I keep looking for it when I register everything in Impulse and I thought it would be a separate thing but is it? If it is separate, why can I not see it to download it within Impluse? I feel so dumb hahahahahaha!!! Ok, now you may all have your way with me hahahahahahaha !!!

Not a stupid question at all, and a few have asked the same thing.
Impulse is just the download tool, it does the same things that Stardock Central (SDC) did and a lot more.
When you open Impulse and click the My Desktop Tab you should/will see all the programs that come with Object Desktop Ultimate. You just start downloading those that show as being available or that an update is available. There are a few that are OS specific. Download those that will work with the OS you are running.
You're not dumb, and there's no such thing as a stupid question.
Impulse is Stardock's new SDC (Star Dock Central) and it is the platform you need to use to download apps/games.
You can download it HERE
It's the blue button on the right side of the screen....then just follow the instructions, or PM me or a Mod if you have more questions...I don't promise to answer them all, though.
*edit...sorry, Philly...I type slowly.
I had a similar question but understood after I saw how Impulse works. I thought ObjectDesktop Ultimate was kinda like a single program that installed everything in one shot but it turned out to be simply a collection of all the programs that, thru Impulse, you could download and install individually. In other words, the only difference between ObjectDesktop and ObjectDesktop Ultimate is you see more programs under your My Desktop tab on Impluse.
Hi again...sorry to go on with this but I still do not get it lol....is Object Desktop Ultimate the same thing as Impulse, in other words did they change the name of Object Desktop Ultimate to Impluse? Or is Object Desktop Ultimate supposed to be a program, like say Window Blinds 6, that I should be seeing within Impulse so that I can download it just as I did WB or other program within Impulse? I am deeply confused. I got Object Desktop Launchpad but thats not Object Desktop Ultimate is it? I have downloaded almost everything available to me in Impulse and still no Object Desktop Ultimate. On my own account page I found a link for Object Desktop Ultimate and the darned thing is downloading now but it's 210 MB's!!!! Does this sound right? I am so sorry for not understanding this, it's making me nuts lol, and I apologize for taking up your time
Object Desktop is a series of programs (WindowBlinds, Icon Packager etc) used to customise your pc. Impulse is a download manager through which you can download all the programs in Object Desktop.
As so logically put previously, Impulse is the download/update manager that you use to install and update all the applications that come with your Object Desktop subscription. Nowhere will you 'see' something called Object Desktop that you can install. All of the applications 'Are' Object Desktop.
Impulse = downloader
Object Desktop Ultimate = just the name given to a suite of various applications - those applications being separatly known as WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX, etc == those apps collectively known as Object Desktop Ultimate when bought as a bundle
Except for the one you don't ask.
I could stand beside you...so by comparison you'll look like Mensa material....
Hello again
To those who helped, thank you so much... I feels so much better hahaha!!! I have always loved this community of savvy (<<<may be spelled wrong) tee hee, folks, you are very kind, thanks for making me feel smart again. If I can be of assistance to anyone, please let me know. Hugs to all!!!
Webwoman,
We have a series of video walkthroughs that explain a lot of what the applications can do, and how to use them. I thought you might find them helpful as well.

And I take it a wincustomize subscription is NOT included in the price of Object Desktop Ultimate?
That is correct
BUT... having an Object Desktop subscription gives you full download rights to content on WC, just make sure you are logging in with your SD Nick & Password.
